Limited Skies
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the game Limited Skies (“the game”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. In short: the game sends gameplay statistics only if you agree, and a bug report only when you send one yourself. Nothing else leaves your computer.
Who is responsible
The game is made by Lako Studio. The controller of the data described here is Pavel Mur, a sole proprietor trading as Lako Studio. For anything in this policy, write to support@lakostudio.com.
1. Gameplay statistics — only if you agree
The first time you start the game, it asks whether you want to share anonymous gameplay statistics. Until you agree, nothing is sent and the statistics service is not started at all. You can change your answer at any time in SETTINGS → GAME → PRIVACY.
If you agree, the game sends events such as:
- progress through the tutorial, the story and contracts (started, completed, failed, abandoned);
- ships you fly, modules you fit, systems you visit, and how your ship was lost;
- in-game money earned and spent, mining, refining and production;
- saves and loads, and the last window open when you quit;
- when a session starts and how long it lasts, and the game version.
With these events, the statistics service also receives technical data: your operating system and its version, your device model, and your IP address, from which it determines your country.
Each installation gets a random statistics id. It is not tied to your Steam account, your name or your email, and we do not try to link it to you. You can see it in SETTINGS → GAME → PRIVACY (“Your stats id”).
The game does not send error messages or Unity engine diagnostics: both are turned off, because they could include your Windows user name.
Why: to see where players get stuck or lose interest, and to fix the game. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
Who processes it: GameAnalytics (GameAnalytics ApS, Denmark), on our behalf. GameAnalytics keeps this data for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted or anonymised. See GameAnalytics’ privacy notice and retention policy.
2. Bug reports — only when you send one
The “Report a bug” form sends a report only when you press Send. A report contains:
- what you wrote, and a name if you typed one (it is optional — without it the report is anonymous);
- a screenshot of the game, if you opened the form from the pause menu;
- a copy of your current save — or of your latest save, if you report from the main menu;
- the game’s log files and a summary of your system: operating system, processor, graphics card, memory and screen. Log files can contain file paths, and a path may include your Windows user name;
- the game version, graphics settings, your local time, where you were in the game, and whether the game crashed the last time it ran.
Why: to reproduce and fix the bug. Legal basis: your consent, given by sending the report.
Where it goes: to a private channel on our Discord server (Discord Inc., USA) that only the developer can read. A report is deleted once it is no longer needed to fix the bug, and in any case within 12 months.
3. What the game does not do
- It has no accounts, no sign-in and no ads, and does not track you in other apps or on websites.
- It does not ask for your email or payment details. A name is included only if you type one into a bug report.
- We do not sell your data or share it with anyone other than the services named above. If you buy the game on Steam, Valve handles the purchase under Steam’s privacy policy.
4. Transfers outside the EU
Bug reports are stored by Discord, a US company. Discord describes the safeguards it uses for such transfers in its privacy policy.
5. Your rights
You can turn statistics off at any time in the settings; from that moment nothing more is sent. You can also ask us to show, correct or delete the data linked to your statistics id or to a bug report you sent. Write to support@lakostudio.com and include your stats id (from SETTINGS → GAME → PRIVACY) or the report number. If you live in the EU or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
6. Children
The game is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. This website
lakostudio.com uses no cookies and no analytics. It is hosted on GitLab Pages; GitLab may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, under its own privacy policy.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. If the game starts collecting anything new, it will ask for your consent again.
